I am in the older age category but still like riding enthusiastically. I live in the northern part of the UK with some brilliant twisty roads, usually well surfaced and reasonably quiet of traffic. These are the roads I like, where I can enjoy myself. Don't take all of the star ratings as accurate as some are not fully tested but they inspire trust and confidence. Also fitted to my VFR800

The front gives way under cornering with no warning. On at least two occasions under normal cornering and not heavy or fast, the tyre has lost grip. I was lucky to manage to keep the bile from dropping. i usually cover about 8000 - 1000 miles a year in all conditions. I used the RoadTec 01 in the past and they were a better all round tyre, the new SE seems to be lacking in feedback. I would use the RoadTec 01 again but not the SE.

20yrs riding experience. Have 3 bikes currently. Live in NE Scotland. Very confident dry riding fast where safe to do so but cautious in the Scottish wet slippy roads.

I have had nothing but puncture after puncture with Pirelli. 2 Rosso 2’s and even worse Rosso 3’s x2, too soft for British road’s but I am held to ransom as I can’t get Michelin’s in the size any more for some reason.

Good grip wet & dry(>10degC) and reasonable feedback, mainly used on fast A and twisty B roads. Ride quite hard so only about 2500 miles from rear tyre, about double for front. Comparable to other tyres, is Michelin road smart 4

I fitted these tyres after a Scotland trip with the existing trail type tyres, a couple of front end twitches and countless times the traction control kicked in even just on damp roads. With these tyres fitted a mix of high speed touring across France and Swiss alpine passes, prior to which some weekend riding with mates on sports bikes. Adjusted the fork preload and the tyres performed impeccably, even the day we had monsoon like rain. I had already sorted the pressures to my liking which were 36 front and 38 rear, with or without full luggage. The bike has limited adjustment on the suspension but only required a few clicks on the rear between fully loaded and rider only. I’ve always ridden sports bikes until recently but my worries about grip handling the tight switchbacks on such a heavy bike were very quickly dispelled, No real signs of wear yet I’ll have to see how they do for longevity, but no hesitation at buying these tyres again. I have Avon sport tyres on my Honda VTR SP1 and these tyres give the same feedback and a very comfortable ride. Front 110/80R19. Rear 150/70ZR17

before i use Bridgestone tyres, when i chang to Mitas tyres i see hudge difference, rear tyre is much better stick to asphalt than with BS. Propably this is the best choice with lower price.

190/55 rear - 120/70 front. I normally buy Michelin, Dunlop or Conti Sport tyres but spotted these on eBay and read as many reviews as I could find, over a couple of weeks, before deciding to buy. I haven't been disappointed! ....Cleaned newly fitted tyres with a blast of brake cleaner, clean rag then warmed them up on a 6-mile high-speed blast around local ring road and couple of laps of 3 interconnected motorway roundabouts, before a big left-hand helical motorway slip road then up onto the pennines for a few miles of twisties. Bike felt comfortable, solid, balanced and predictable from the start. They went straight on font and rear without the need for balancing (after the valve - balance marks were lined up). Tyres have inspired more confidence with every mile and haven't squirmed in the dry yet, even under full throttle. Fantastic performance for the money.
21.09.2021fromMladen
Very grippy tires, warms up quickly, very flickable and easy to switch directions, especially when new. I tested them completely new and cold, went full gas and they didn't slide. So when new they are very grippy. After 6000 km grip gradually dissapear as tyre wears out in the middle. You can expect 10 000km from the rear and front can go at least another 3-5000 km. Higly recommend. The best cheap new tyre for your money.
10.11.2018fromThe Phoenix Store
No difference to a top brand, works on all road conditions.

These are my 3rd set of Metzeler Roadtec 01 tyres and they have been incredible. Very quick to warm up, slightly susceptible to squaring off if lots of motorway miles but very good grip in wet and dry. Had a couple of slight slips when banked over hard on roundabouts in the wet, but really amazing tyres. Get about 10-14,000 miles out of a front and 7-8,000 out of a rear on my Triumph Bonneville T100.
17.09.2020fromCreg Wooden
I've used Dunlop Road Smart 3, Michellin PR4 and Metzeler Roadtec 01 on my MT and the latter is by far the best. The bike feels planted, there's loads of grip even in the wet and it lasts for ages with little squaring off, though that wouldn't he the case of you did lots of motorway miles. What I like about the Roadtec is that there is more than enough dry grip than I will ever need. I'm a seasoned rider having been on bikes for 26 years and ride with enthusiasm shall we say. However despite the plentiful dry grip it is in the wet where the Roadtec shines. Lean angles and confidence that you'd expect in the dry are the norm and the feed back and turning in of the bike are confidence inspiring. These tyre also have great life with me getting 6000miles from my last rear which I think is in large part due to the fact I don't believe they are dual compound so there are no softer bits to wear quickly. Surprising given the performance of the tyre.
27.12.2018fromSteve Milsom
Not a bad tyre when new. Back tended to skip about on white lines and grooves. Past it’s best by 5000 km. wierd profile developed that caused odd handling and vibration. Plenty of tread left so I put up with it for commuting. Not as good as PR4s IMHO
