Ok, so I have MPS4S's for summer tyres but whilst biblical levels of grip in warmer temps do loose grip at less than 10c. Already had a set of 305 Pirelli Sotozero for the rears and read reviews on these for the fronts and they seemed capable. So ordered them up and had them fitted to my spare winter alloys last Oct. Winter rubber is a softer compound than Summer and of course there was increased tread noise due to 8mm on them Have just (last week if April) had them taken off and swapped to my summer tyres and alloys. Appreciate during lockdown I've been doing less than half the miles I'd normally cover in 6 months (but have 2 other cars with all-season rubber) All tyres showed minimum wear with tread still being at above 7mm. Would defo recommend, as based on wear rates they should last me another 3-4yrs :)

    Comment:
A bit dubious about road noise compared to summer Goodyear Eagle F1s but quite unnecessary - not noisier at all, no difference in fuel consumption, around 55mpg on a good run, and the grip in wet significantly better. Tread pattern near identical to recommended Pirelli or Continental for a lot less dosh. Only one winter's worth so far - and the change was half-way through - but looking forward to November to change them back.
