Ok in the dry, lethal in the wet. Avoid. tyre is a ditchfinder in these conditions. I think it is because the rubber is very hard that it does not give good wet grip.

Not bad grip in the dry but not brilliant either. Good wear characteristics, and quite on rough surfaces, but wet grip is terrible it is like driving on ice. I cannot reccomend this tyre because of this. Even if you are a normal driver you may find you need to brake in an emergency, and need all the grip you can get.

used to have goodyear eagle F1 GSD3's first on the fronts, awsome grip but soft compound and wore out quick. then i went with toyo proxies T1-S's good grip, not as grippy as the Goodyear's but again soft compound and wore out after 8,000 miles on the fronts. the nankangs are less grippy than the toyos but for the price they are very good, also have rim protection, and the main thing is they are a hard compound tyre which is probably why they grip less but tend to last for quite some time. done 11k miles now with the nankangs on the front of the car and they still got good tred depth on them still. will deffo get again, if you have a high powered car then the toyos offer more grip for not much cash but if all your just a demanding driver with not a very torquey car then the nankangs will be perfect and will last longer. not much road noise too on the motorways.

My car came fitted with 3 of these at the rear and 2 Yokohama s306 fitted at the front. The Yoko's were almost new. I managed to get a puncture in one of the fronts, so I replaced them both with NS-2's. In comparison to the Yoko's these tyres lack grip in both wet and dry conditions, however they are quieter and more comfortable. Anyone who says these tyres give great grip is probably comparing them to their old worn out tyres. I certainly won't be buying them again, I will spend more and get something with a bit better grip. More grip equals shorter stopping distances and a safer drive.
