Comment:
Very reliable all round road tyre with excellent performance particularly in wet conditions, where the tyre will continue to grip under heavy breaking and allow the bike to glide about nimbly, holding good speed throughout the turns. I've ran this tyre a few times now, the fronts have lasted at least the life of two rear tyres and then some, and have inspired confidence throughout. I've managed just over 3000 miles out of the last rear; mostly with my girlfriend riding pillion, and my riding involves a fair amount of heavy throttle and braking usage, and respectable lean angles and corner speeds on all of the UK's varying road conditions. With previously over-harsh suspension and rubbing mud-guard reducing the lifespan of previous tyres. I've been renowned to give anything black a sticky a hard time, with anything from BT090's/BT016's on my old 400, through to Pilot Power 2CT's and lasting little over 1500 miles of solo abuse. So for the longevity of this tyre alone, I'd say they satisfy. The tyres allow brilliant feel and power to be accessed from the brakes, I've recently added updated monobloc callipers to 320mm oversized brembo track discs to complement the previously installed brembo RCS master-cylinder, suffice to say they deserve respect and the tyres handle that power without hindrance whatsoever. On the road I've played about with pressures a bit and have enjoyed some of the results from slightly lowered pressures, but would say that they are bang on at the stated 36 front and 42 rear for the majority of situations, they offer good feel but a harsh ride over the bumps, and the profiles allow a steady drop in but the feel is less defined until reaching the shoulder, where they will communicate predictably, and will easily forgive when pushed too far.
